[00:00.30]PHANTOM:Down once more to the dungeon of my black despair!
[00:06.22]Down we plunge to the prison of my mind!
[00:12.52]Down that path into darkness deep as hell!
[00:24.00]Why, you ask, was I bound and chained in this cold and dismal place?
[00:29.60]Not for any mortal sin, but the wickedness of my abhorrent face!
[00:34.51]MOB:Track down this murderer!
[00:35.72]He must be found!
[00:36.83]PHANTOM:Hounded out by everyone!
[00:39.12]Met with hatred everywhere!
[00:41.08]No kind word from anyone!
[00:43.17]No compassion anywhere!
[00:45.43]Christine, Christine...
[00:49.10]Why, why...?
[00:54.91]MADAME GIRY:Keep your hand at the level of your eyes!
[00:57.13]RAOUL:...at the level of your eyes!
[00:58.39]MOB:Your hand at the level of your eyes!
[01:01.18]MOB:Track down this murderer, he must be found!(x2)
[01:07.48]Hunt out this animal, who runs to ground!
[01:11.11]Too long he's preyed on us but now we know
[01:14.76]the Phantom of the Opera lives here deep down below!
[01:21.26]He's here: the Phantom of the Opera . . .(x2)
[01:31.30]CHRISTINE:Have you gorged yourself at last, in your lust for blood?
[01:40.19]Am I now to be prey to your lust for flesh?
[01:49.03]PHANTOM:That fate, which condemns me to wallow in blood
[01:55.35]has also denied me the joys of the flesh
[02:01.88]this face - the infection which poisons our love
[02:11.28]This face, which earned a mother's fear and loathing
[02:18.99]A mask, my first unfeeling scrap of clothing
[02:27.09]Pity comes too late - turn around and face your fate:
[02:34.11]an eternity of THIS before your eyes!
[02:42.79]CHRISTINE:This haunted face holds no horror for me now
[02:54.25]It's in your soul that the true distortion lies
[03:08.93]PHANTOM:Wait! I think, my dear, we have a guest!
[03:14.16](to Raoul)Sir, this is indeed an unparalleled delight!
[03:21.27]I had rather hoped that you would come.
[03:25.43]And now my wish comes true
[03:29.13]you have truly made my night!
[03:31.93]RAOUL:Free her!
[03:33.33]Do what you like only free her!
[03:36.07]Have you no pity?
[03:37.54]PHANTOM (to Christine):Your lover makes a passionate plea!
[03:40.10]CHRISTINE:Please, Raoul, it's useless
[03:41.21]RAOUL:I love her!
[03:42.93]Does that mean nothing?
[03:44.17]I love her!
[03:45.99]Show some compassion!
[03:47.35]PHANTOM (snarls furiously at RAOUL):The world showed no compassion to me!
[03:49.57]RAOUL:Christine . . .Christine . . .(to PHANTOM)Let me see her . . .
[03:53.92]PHANTOM:Be my guest, sir . .
[03:57.00](He pulls the lever, opening the gate. Raoul enters)
[03:58.40]Monsieur, I bid you welcome!
[04:02.95]Did you think that I would harm her?
[04:07.40](Reaches into the water and takes out something)
[04:07.93]Why should I make her pay for the sins which are yours?
[04:14.73](The thing he pulled out of the water was the PunJab lasso.
[04:15.34]He lassos Raoul around the neck, choking him.
[04:15.65]As Raoul tries to escape,
[04:16.37]the Phantom forces him back
[04:16.97]and ties the lasso around the gate and tighter around Raoul's neck)
[04:17.99](Taunting)Order your fine horses now!
[04:21.34]Raise up your hand to the level of your eyes!
[04:25.51]Nothing can save you now - except perhaps Christine . . .
[04:33.09](to Christine)Start a new life with me -
[04:37.20]Buy his freedom with your love!
[04:40.90]Refuse me, and you send your lover to his death!
[04:44.88]This is the choice -
[04:47.20]This is the point of no return!
[04:57.44]CHRISTINE:The tears I might have shed for your dark fate
[05:04.87]grow cold, and turn to tears of hate . . .
[05:13.57]RAOUL:Christine, forgive me, please forgive me . . .
[05:18.99]I did it all for you, and all for nothing . . .
[05:21.03]CHRISTINE:Farewell my fallen idol and false friend(Phantom:Too late for turning back)
[05:26.05]We had such hopes, and now those hopes are shattered(Phantom:Too late for prayers and useless pity)
[05:30.55]PHANTOM:Past all hope of cries for help(Raoul:Say you love him and my life is over)
[05:36.87]no point in fighting -
[05:39.11]For either way you choose you cannot win(RAOUL:Either way you choose, he has to win).
[05:46.10]PHANTOM:So, do you end your days with me,
[05:50.60]or do you send him to his grave?
[05:54.32]RAOUL:Why make her lie to you, to save me?
[06:02.88]PHANTOM:Past the point of no return(CHRISTINE:Angel of Music . . .)
[06:08.41]RAOUL:For pity's sake Christine, say no!(Christine:Who deserves this?)
[06:09.42]Phantom:The final threshold...(RAOUL:Don't throw your life away for my sake!)
[06:12.12]PHANTOM:His life is now the prize which you must earn!(CHRISTINE:When will you see reason?)
[06:17.63]RAOUL:I fought so hard to free you . . .
[06:21.27]PHANTOM:You've passed the point of no...(CHRISTINE:Angel of Music)
[06:25.90]...return!(CHRISTINE:...you deceived me)
[06:29.83]CHRISTINE:I gave my mind blindly
[06:35.27]PHANTOM:You try my patience - make your choice!
[06:39.22](Pulls the rope, choking Raoul harder)
[06:40.18]CHRISTINE:(Moves slowly toward the Phantom)
[06:41.36]Pitiful creature of darkness
[06:47.11]What kind of life have you known?
[06:53.80]God give me courage to show you: you are not alone...
[07:06.69](Kisses him long and full on the lips.
[07:10.85]The embrace lasts a long time.
[07:13.60]RAOUL watches in horror and wonder.)
[07:22.22]Phantom:(Breaths heavily)
[07:24.82](Then she leans toward him and embraces him again.
[07:26.82]But this time the kiss is long and deep. A lover's kiss)
[07:41.43]MOB a:Track down this murderer - he must be found!

[08:15.75]PHANTOM:Go now - GO NOW and leave me!
[08:20.82](Raoul and Christine get in the boat
[08:28.92]with music box as background melody)
[08:43.89]Masquerade . . .
[08:47.51]Paper faces on parade . . .
[08:50.82]Masquerade . . .
[08:52.82]Hide your face so the world will never find you . . .

[10:28.54]it's over now, the music of the night . . .
[10:50.51](He smashes all the mirrors he sees his face in.
[11:03.72]After he smashes the last mirror, he drops the goblet and walks into the last mirror)
[11:16.96](The MOB including MEG, appears above, climbing down the portcullis.
[11:22.24]They enter the lair. MEG crosses to the throne and picks up his mask)
